‘Guusje was a fighter, an rolemodel!”

door CAROLA STOELHORST

HARDERWIJK - Guusje Nederhorst-Woesthoff. We know here as Roos from the dutch soap Goede tijden, slechte tijden.
Monday 29 January its 3 years ago that she died an breast cancer. Sandra Heatherly (20) from Harderwijk (Netherlands) made the site www.guusjewoesthoff.tk for the family and fans of Guusje Nederhorst.

Just like thousand others Sandra gets interested in Guusje because of her acting in the soap Goede tijden slechte tijden as Roos Alberts. ‘I liked the way she acting. I was not an superfan but she was very funny and the most popular girl in that soap. But after her death i start to realise what she must have been trough and get a lot respect for her. She was a fighter.’

‘I have taken her way of dealing with things as an example for my own life. Every time when I think: No, I am not good enough for that or i cant do this, I think of Guusje and think: Ok I go for it and try to get everything out it that is possible. Guusje did what she wanted even when she doubt if she could do it.
She is really an inspiration.’

On the moment that Sandra heard that Guusje past away, she remember like it was yesterday. ‘I sit behind the computer and look outside my window and it was snowing and I thought: “wow, the world really looks beautiful”. After 15 minutes I heard on the dutch TV news that Guusje died that morning because of cancer. For everybody in Holland it was a big shock.

After the news of her death, sites and news stations immediately reported that Guusje died. When after an half year people still talked about it Sandra decided to make a website in memory of Guusje. “In that time there where 3 other website about Guusje but they only made a competition who was the best and who had the most pictures. It was disgusting to see that because of that it had nothing to do with Guusje anymore.. Then I decided to make my own website.’ The reactions on the website of Sandra where very positive. Even Guusje’s brother become a member on the site and donated money. Visitors and members liked it very much that the site was not in black and white but very colourful just like Guusje would like it. Now with 150 members who are very active on the site with adding pictures, old interviews and more the website is a success. ‘Everybody keeps sending me things about Guusje. Even when it’s almost 3 years ago that she died. So I need to thank all the fans for helping so much with the website, tells Sandra.

Dreamer

Even after her death Guusje stays in the picture. The song Dreamer that her husband, singer Dinand Woesthoff of the rock band Kane, after her death made, brings 250.000 euro for the  KWF cancer donation.

‘Everthing changes but our love forever stays.’ De most beautiful part from the song, is Sandra’s opinion. ‘Everything changes for them but the love will always stay”. Dinand now goes on with his life. He has a new girlfriend and second son. I am very happy that Dean Maddy (the son of Dinand and Guusje) now has a mother figure in his life and a brother.
Although Guusje always be his only  mother”. In the years before her death Guusje worked on a children book with a cd named: Woezel and Pip. Dinand have publicate this after her death and is working on a Woezel and Pip clothes line for children. That proofs again that love dont die.’

Sandra's interview was for 2 days the most readed artical on the website of the newspaper!
